The ANZ New Year Waterfront Festival is a two-day event held on the gorgeous Geelong Waterfront on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day and is coordinated by the Event Management Company P/L.

The Festival kicks off with Fireworks at Dusk on the Waterfront. This is an inaugural event to be held on Cunningham Pier and Steampacket Quay. This event is sponsored by The Geelong Times and Bay FM. The young and young at heart are invited to come along and enjoy the children’s rides, jumping castles, roving entertainment including buskers, stilt walkers and statues. Delicious food and beverages are available to purchase. There will be a dusk fireworks display at approximately 9.15pm which will conclude the Fireworks at Dusk event.

The second event is the iconic New Year on the Waterfront event, this year headlined by Eskimo Joe. Fans will flock to the Waterfront for the biggest party in town. A giant stage will feature Test Pilot Molly, Passionfruit Pulp and five time Aria nominated Eskimo Joe. There are two dance marquees and a huge midnight fireworks display proudly supported by the City of Greater Geelong - http://www.newyearonthewaterfront.com.au/

Last but not least is the ANZ Family Day on the Waterfront which provides free rides, activities and entertainment on New Year’s Day on Steampacket Gardens. Long time sponsors ANZ are again on board. Host with the most Andrew Gill will lead the day with live music, a crocodile feeding show and circus performances on the stage. Keep an eye out for Half Cat and the 2009 premiership cup; there is a petting zoo plus Roaming Reptiles, face painters and roaming performers including four metre high butterflies, stilt walkers, balloon artists, unicyclists, acrobats and magicians. Children’s rides and jumping castles are all free. There will be a market plus food and beverage vendors. The Skate Park will be a hive of activity with cool bands playing and skate demonstrations. A great way to spend New Year’s Day!
